CERAMICS

I hand painted the top 2 figures in a ceramics class I used to attend. The technique used
is called Dry Brushing. The figures at the bottom, I think from memory were made of
plaster (I picked up at a market), I made these for my eldest son Jordie.
He adored them!!

CERAMIC LADIES

I hand painted these 2 lovely ladies also at Ceramics class, these have been fired and
glazed. On the column on the left figure there is opal glaze which is quite pretty
that the photo did not pick up. I was asked to enter the figure on the left into a
show, but had a family member take very ill, it was nice to have been asked!

SAINT NICHOLAS

I made St.Nick in 1999 for my sister in-law and he takes pride of place on her
dinning table, not once a year but all year. He has just had a revamp and has
coated with a semi gloss varnish, so he is easily cleaned in the years to come.
He measures 36 inches ( 91 1/2 cm ) 3 feet tall. If I stand next to him the
tip of his candle is in line with my hip, so he is pretty big, and I am not
short in height by any means!!!! These photo’s really don’t do him justice
either.

I love all your ceramics, Petrina. I have three very elegant ladies that I painted and glazed some years ago. I enjoyed doing ceramics but my friend who took the class had to give up,
